| LONDON MOZART TRIO: Krysztof Smietana, violin
Leonid Gorokhov, cello Colin Stone, piano
|
Saturday 15th November 2008 |
 |
Programme includes Schubert Trio in B flat D898, Rachmaninov Trio élégiaque No 2 in D minor Op 9
The London Mozart Trio has earned critical acclaim for its many committed performances and profound musicianship and all three members are leading soloists in their own right. Both Leonid and Colin have played for BAFS before and we are very pleased to welcome them back with their colleague, the eminent Polish violinist Kysztof Smietana. Their recording of the Schubert Trio D898 was selected by the BBC for the “Building a Library” series and their latest Shostakovitch recording was Classic FM’s CD of the Month in June this year. |

| VALERIY SOKOLOV, Violin KATHRYN STOTT, Piano |
Saturday 14th March 2009 |
 |
Bach – Sonata in A minor
Schubert – Duo in A major
Saint-Saëns – Rondo Capriccioso
Prokofiev – 5 Melodies.
Great news that we have been able to re-schedule this concert after Valeriy was unable to play in February 2008! He is already applauded as a highly talented violinist and is making an international reputation as both soloist and chamber musician. Kathryn Stott is renowned throughout the world for her solo recitals and long-standing chamber music partnerships with such musicians as Yo-Yo Ma, Janine Jansen, Natalie Klein, and the Belcea, Skampa and Endellion Quartets. She is a prolific recording artist and is currently a professor at the Royal Academy of Music and at Chetham’s School, Manchester. |
